Boy’s Division’s Age Group Information:

Scoopers - Boys with birthdates 9/1/2010 through 12/31/2013. The goal of this program is to introduce and develop the fundamentals of the game in a fun environment and build continuity into the program at an early age. The Scoopers program will begin with skills training in the early sessions and will evolve into a 6 v 6 format on a half sized field without goalies as the season progresses. Every player will rotate throughout the field of play in order to gain exposure at each position.

Clinic - Boys with birthdates 9/1/08 to 8/31/10. The emphasis is high on instruction and less on competition. 12-minute quarters – running time (clock stops for official timeouts only). NO 10 sec. or 20 sec. count. Games are played on a full-sized field and rules are slightly modified to eliminate heavy contact. NO BODY CHECKS! Goalies will be introduced at this level. One coach will be allowed on the field during play but must remain in the alley areas, and there will be one referee. Games are played in various locations throughout Anne Arundel County.

Pee Wee - Boys with birthdates 9/1/06 to 8/31/08. Games are played with nearly all the normal rules as the Clinic with some minor differences. 12-minute quarters – running time (clock stops for official timeouts only). NO 10 sec. or 20 sec. count. Games are played throughout the county and are refereed by county officials. NO TAKE-OUT CHECKS or UNNECESSARY or EXCESSIVE body contact will be permitted.

Middie - Boys with birthdates 9/1/04 to 8/31/06. 10-minute quarters with start/stop time. Basic skills are taught to all players and many beginners start playing lacrosse at this level. All aspects of the game are played at this level, with the introduction of man down and extra man play. NO TAKE-OUT CHECKS or UNNECESSARY or EXCESSIVE body contact. The season ends with County and State Championship games for the top teams. Most games will be played on Turf Fields.

Juniors - Boys with birthdates 9/1/02 to 8/31/04. 10-minute quarters with start/stop time. (10 or 20 second count WILL BE USED).
